I didn’t really want to come back without some good news. Now I do…really, really good news. I am going to COLLEGE!!! One more step and I am in!! This Thursday is new student orientation and enrollment. I’m just hoping I don’t go in there and have a panic attack. I know it’s not going to be easy, working and going to school but I have to do something. I’m sick of working at home and I’m sick of my job period!

This is a super big deal to me. I’ve wanted to go to school forever. I put it off for so long trying to take care of someone else and now, at 34, it’s MY turn. I want a job that I enjoy, something that at least makes me feel like I am contributing something significant. I can get a two-year criminal justice degree at the community college here in town. That will open up a long list of job opportunities for me. Right now I’m very interested in being a victim’s advocate but there are so many possibilities, especially if I can further my education. I’m excited!!
