SIGHTS: More Than Enough: A Novel by John Fulton

Taking the car to the only store in town that is open all night long, Wal-Mart, I realized....I’m not going anywhere this weekend....I’m totally stuck in this nightmare. My heater in my car is not working. It’s defrosting the window but that’s about it. It was like -2 outside and probably -1 inside the car. My upper lip was so cold I probably could have pierced it and not felt a damn thing. Too bad I didn’t have a potato...heh. It was so cold I almost turned around and came home. But, when I thought of what was at home, I trudged on.

I almost totally lost it here today. All day long my nieces are at my door or my sister is at my door. About 3:00 I had to lay down because I had a migraine and the best way to get rid of it is to take a couple Tylenol and lay down. I told my sister this. As soon as I lay down the kids start playing bumper doors in the hall, banging into my door and bouncing off the wall and into another door, wall, door, wall, door...you get the picture. Then my youngest niece is tapping on my door with something, “Dawnie, Aunt Dawnie, I need to tell you something!” And what is my sister doing, sitting on her ass on the couch!! I finally got up and yelled at her, “STAY AWAY FROM MY DOOR!!!” I hate that. I hate yelling at her. That’s all my sister does is yell at these kids. But dammit, I couldn’t take it any more. So, I gave up on my nap and went to get a drink. My sister has the nerve to ask me, “how’s your head?” ARRRGGGHHH!!! I almost packed up my CDs and took them to a pawnshop for the money to get a hotel room for the next two days, my days off. I may still do it since I probably won’t be going to Sybil’s this weekend. Nick will be bored out of his mind but at this point, I don’t care. I wonder if I could hook his Nintendo up to one of those hotel TVs...hmmm.
